Founded by Steve Greenberg in another era and thriving in today's - Allens Boots has served patrons of Austin on South Congress Ave for almost 50 years. Widely known as the greatest western wear store there is, we take a lot of pride in upholding the legacy of having the greatest selection and best quality boots anywhere. We've got the largest selection of open stock boots to choose from and can also set you up with a matching belt, hat, silver buckle and authentic western apparel. Also, we forgot to mention that we do offer custom made boots designed specifically for you.
When Allens Boots first opened, South Congress Avenue was a far cry from the action packed destination it is today. In fact, you could say it was a little seedy. Liquor stores and pawn shops were our neighbors and after hours you could find some unsavory, if not colorful characters out and about. Steve once had the cloth top of his convertible shredded by a robber right out front for a pair of worn out old repair boots that were sitting on the back seat. Times have changed!
Times sure HAVE changed, but we haven't. We still stand for our unique, original-Austin western style and a firm commitment to customer experience and product quality. Just like in the old days you won't find a bigger selection of boots and hats anywhere and you'll be hard pressed to find a more authentic piece of Austin, Texas history.
